After recently moving into this fantastic Dere Street Homes new build property on Wynyard Rise, our clients were faced with a large blank canvas that they wanted to ensure was usable for all the family but featured a contemporary garden design. 

Inspired by the family’s keen interest in tennis and their desired focus to have an area to practice all year round. The client also wanted to ensure paved areas for entertaining were added to the design with lots of green lawns to balance the finished garden.

After careful consideration our team’s solution was to design and build a large hard standing entertainment area, level tennis practise area the size of half a tennis court and a lush green lawn. 

We ensured that this fantastic outdoor space was functional, appealing to the eye but was a relatively low maintenance garden. In order to do this, border areas were designed to be kept to buxus hedging with architectural planting, accompanied by subtle outdoor lighting to really showcase the space to our clients on an evening.

The end result was created using high-quality products from trusted companies who we regularly work with. The large patio area was installed using Marshalls Townsgate Sawn Indian stone paving, with Marshalls Drivesett Tegula edges. This was accompanied by the circular paved area created using matching Tegula blocks. 

Concrete was used for hand standing to create the tennis practice area, which was finished off with artificial lawn provided by STM. To finish, border areas were created using treat sleepers and were finally fitted with membrane and finished with golden gravel - ensuring the finishing touches were low maintenance. 

The lush green lawn and choice of plants bring colour and life to this luxurious new build garden.
